Fade to Night (Under Realm Assassins #4)

TBR 2026

“He was tall, six-two / six-three, probably two hundred and six pounds and solid. The lighting was poor, but his hair and eyes were dark. He also had a tan.” She paused, then asked, “Can vampires tan? I mean, they must avoid sunlight, right? And…” She felt her cheeks heat.
“And what?”
“He…Um, well he…”
Camille’s shoulders stiffened, and her lips thinned with worry. “Spit it out.”
“Fine. He smelled like a damn rain forest. Fresh. Clean.” A harsh contrast to the odors that graced the New Orleans streets at night. “Do vampires sweat?”

Description:

Blood is sacred...

When a nest of fledgling vampires arise in New Orleans and begin murdering indiscriminately, leaving their victim’s bodies strewn across the streets it doesn’t take long for the Under Realm Syndicate to respond. Order and peace is priority among the Other Society and mortals must be protected.

Ancient, powerful, and ruthless Cassian D’Amore exists in shadow. As an Elite Assassin, he stalks his prey with strict focus and kills with cold precision. Never has he strayed from an assignment or allowed distractions to alter his course, but his sudden raw need to possess the brave, maddeningly tempting human─who finds herself in the wrong place at precisely the wrong time─threatens his millennia old control.

Whispers circle of a menacing presence that has come to New Orleans, but logical and practical Raelyn Bourchard doesn’t believe the rumors until she meets soulless as stone, dangerously mesmerizing, and brutally erotic Cassian. There is something strikingly different about him. He is dark, daring, and mysterious. Raelyn craves his kiss, his touch, and his secrets. Will succumbing to his predatory desires make her another unfortunate causality in the battle that wages within his strange supernatural world, or will her surrender save him from a desolate eternity?

Fade to Night (Under Realm Assassins #4)

TBR 2026

“You’ve confirmed witches, fairies, werewolves, animal shapeshifters, and a handful of other creatures, but never once did you mention vampires.”
Camille pinched the bridge of her nose as she released an exasperated sigh. “Vampires are rare. They might as well be a grain of sand in the ocean. What happened tonight is abnormal.”
Raelyn snorted and was about to carry on when Camille asked, “The shadow man, what did he look like?”
She stumbled to a stop. Gorgeous. She thought. No man should be that beautiful.

10 Things Reader’s Might be Surprised to Know about Me - Guest Post

1. One of my favorite movies of all time is the Godfather Part I. I watch it every time it’s on and love it so much so that I walked down the aisle to the Godfather Love Song rather than the traditional Bridal March. Also, when my husband and I were introduced as Mr.  & Mrs. for the first time, the DJ played the Godfather Trilogy’s theme song. Hey, I’m Italian – it fits.

2. Flame and the Flower by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss was the first true romance novel I ever read. It was one of my grandmother’s favorite romances that she allowed me to borrow. This historical is written in the true bodice ripper fashion and was originally published it 1972.

Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/896623.The_Flame_and_the_Flower

3. My love of vampires started in middle school when I read my first Y/A paranormal novel but Dark Gold by Christine Feehan was the first adult paranormal romance I ever read and I was hooked.  Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/108385.Dark_Gold

4. I have a terrible habit of starting series on book 3. Dark Gold is the 3rd installment within the Dark series. I don’t know what it is, but the 3rd book almost never fails to capture my attention and then I have to go back and read books 1 and 2.

5. My husband and I met when we were 10. We were in the same 5th grade class and actually “went out” that year. We went to different middle schools and high schools, but reconnected when he joined the military.

6. We have 5 fur babies: Yes, 5! We've got 3 dogs and 2 cats. My husband had the idea to name all of our dogs after guns (eye roll, but whatever makes him happy), and so we have Barrett (our old man), Kimber (our distinguished lady) and Springfield (spring is the perfect description for that energetic guy). Our daughter named out 2 cats: Comancho (feisty but lovable), and Basquet (a little purr machine).

7. It’s an odd observation, but the family tends to marry people that are a foot taller than them. I’m 5’4” and my husband is 6’4”. My mom is 5’6” and my dad is 6’6”. My aunt is 5’3” and my uncle is 6’3” and so on and so on. It’s a little weird…

8. My dream car would be a trophy truck. Yes, I want a rallied out truck. I love off-roading.

9. I wrote my first full length novel when I was 12 – after I met and fell in love with my first vampire hero. That had been the first version of Caressed by Moonlight (Rulers of Darkness #1). I wrote the book by hand and kept it in a 3 ring binder. The thing is falling apart but I still have it.

10. I didn’t intend to make Caressed by Moonlight a part of a series, but after I got to know the characters, I had to share all their stories. I’ve recently released the Rulers of Darkness series, books 1 through 3. There will be a total of 6 minimum.
