4 of 5 Stars

Description:
Ewan McCabe, the eldest, is a warrior determined to vanquish his enemy. Now, with the time ripe for battle, his men are ready and Ewan is poised to take back what is his—until a blue-eyed, raven-haired temptress is thrust upon him. Mairin may be the salvation of Ewan’s clan, but for a man who dreams only of revenge, matters of the heart are strange territory to conquer.
The illegitimate daughter of the king, Mairin possesses prized property that has made her a pawn—and wary of love. Her worst fears are realized when she is rescued from peril only to be forced into marriage by her charismatic and commanding savior, Ewan McCabe. But her attraction to her ruggedly powerful new husband makes her crave his surprisingly tender touch; her body comes alive under his sensual mastery. And as war draws near, Mairin’s strength, spirit, and passion challenge Ewan to conquer his demons—and embrace a love that means more than revenge and land.

Review:
I began reading this trilogy out of order. I started with book 3 - I had chosen it while I was waiting for an hour for my husband prescription to be filled, he recently had reconstructive knee surgery.
I loved the 3rd book, Never Love a Highlander.
Ewan McCabe is a widower and Laird of Clan McCabe. His seeks revenge on the man that slaughtered his family and left his people in ruin.
Mairin needs protection from those that would use her to gain her sizable dowry.
She is captures, along with a young boy, and taken to Cameron, and vile, hateful man, who intends to force her marry him by any means. She and the boy, who happens to Ewan's son, escape and she soon finds herself captured by the handsome Laird of the McCabe Clan. Can you see where this is going?
I enjoyed Ewan's character, though I did feel he could be a little over-barring sometimes, but that fits the time period in which the book takes place.
Mairin is strong, speaks her mind, and sometimes her temper gets the best of her and she gets carried away.
The two are a great match and I think anyone who enjoys Highlander romance will love this trilogy. Now, all I have left to reads in #2, Seduction of a Highland Lass.
